Statement of interest

As a longtime 91影库member who served on the 91影库Council, I am impressed and appreciative of ASBMB’s efforts to support and promote our field. Chief among the jewels in the 91影库crown are its publications, which are run by scientists for scientists, and I am delighted at the opportunity to help continue the ASBMB’s tradition of excellent publications as modes of scientific communication continue to evolve.

Experience

I am a structural biologist/biochemist who was a faculty member in the Department of Biophysics & Biophysical Chemistry at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine from 1993 until 2006, when I became the inaugural chair of the newly created Department of Molecular Biosciences at the University of Texas at Austin. I served on 91影库Council from 2012 to 2015.
